Fr Thomas Keating is a living Bodhissatva

May you hear the call

I was going to say saint, but i don’t think he wants to be limited only to the realm of christian wisdom tradition.
And I think to be declared a saint you have to be dead, working miracles from the Bardo.
I am only half way through his book “Divine Therapy” and I can already see and feel his book is changing lives.
His invitation to centering prayer is so gently administered through Q & A discourse that reading alone will take you through the 12 steps intellectually – if you have never considered yourself to be an imposter.
I don’t want to spoil the fun for the reader by giving it all away here.

So far I have attended 2 centering prayer groups in different locations.
One at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St Petersburg, and the other St. Matthews Church in Seminole, Fl.
All while I was waiting for Barnes & Nobles to get my copy of Divine Therapy.
At one of the meetings I watched an interview with Fr. Keating.
I was moved by his vulnerability on camera.
This is clearly a man who has done his homework.
If we could pick a dad, this man would make an awesome one.
His presence is so non threatening, unlike many men who still walk this earth.
He explains the threatening presence of males to be the unhealed emotional wounds of their childhood.
The puffed up ego, the false self, the narcissist, all of the archetypes in fact.
He challenges us further to look within for the source of the false self.
This he says can ONLY be done through a contemplative practice with God (or source) at the center.
He challenges people who call themselves christians, to take up the practice and integrate their concept of christ.
Most of our concepts (if not all of them) are false. The presence of christ within isn’t a vein popping preacher or an angry parent.
Your parents were/are angry because they themselves were/are falsely presenting their true nature.
Illness and suffering on the planet today IS mainly emotional until we get the level of genetics, then it is just that.
I felt from his interview, he is in line with all the mathematical approaches to end times.
There IS a spiritual urgency to gather the rational minds and inspire them to integrate at a higher level of consciousness.
Beyond the who is right and who is deluded.
We know now that human growth and development goes through stages. Each stage must be earned.
To move from an ethnocentric position, there needs to be an inner transformation that cannot take place without a contemplative integral practice – like a 12 step approach. We are addicted to our childish shadow self.
The one who hides behind snidey remarks, sarcasm, parody and skits.
Even though most humans on the planet are currently trapped at lower functioning levels, those who have escaped to higher realms, (and there are thousands who have) can start using their creative talents to get the word out in any media possible. Hollywood is an effective vehicle, the largest religions on the planet are another AND WordPress who boasts to have the fastest growing magnet for putting messages “out there” in google land.
And yet, the shocking statistic of people using the internet to spread negative viruses of narcissistic “ok”ness should awaken the living dead.
It really IS darkest before the dawn this month.
Venus, (our brightest planet) is hidden from view this month in northern hemisphere, because she’s obscured by the sunset.
In the southern hemisphere, Venus twinkles in the blink of an eye at dusk.
May all those participating in Rosh Hashanah this year, hear their trumpet of goodness, truth and beauty.
Back in the day, planets and stars were assumed to be celestial bodies that sent coded messages to mankind.
New Moon today September 27, 11:09am. A liminal opportunity.
